Mornington Peninsula Future Farmers Pathway Program
Expressions of Interest for the 2025/2026 Future Farmers Pathway Program are NOW OPEN!
An exciting opportunity exists for people interested in pursuing a career in small-scale, regenerative market gardening to expand their knowledge, networks and hands-on farming experience on the Mornington Peninsula.
The Future Farmers Pathway Training Program is an initiative developed by a group of Mornington Peninsula farms, with support from Agriculture Victoria and Mornington Peninsula Shire, to help build the next generation of small scale farmers on Mornington Peninsula land.
The program has come about as the future of our food system depends on the next generation of farmers to grow healthy, regenerative fresh produce. The program was launched in September 2023 and has been a resounding success for the inaugural participants who have all gone on to find employment or farming opportunities as a result of the program.
Starting in November, successful applicants of the 2025 Future Farmers Pathway Training Program will learn about small scale, regenerative farming 2 days a week over a 3-5 month seasonal growing cycle. For the first time participants will be hosted by a select group of passionate and experienced Mornington Peninsula farmers, rotating around the network of farms over the 5 months. A number of workshops with experts will add to the program, ensuring deep learning opportunities in key areas of expertise.
