vegetable bins & wicking beds
At Torello, we sell a selection of vegetable and wicking beds to grow your veggies and herbs in. Vegetable bins are wooden crates (apple bins) with a triple plastic liner. Wicking beds are also wooden crates with a triple plastic liner, but also include infrusture to enable them become a self-watering garden bed (see further details below).
We offer two sizes of vege bins and wicking beds.
Full size - length 1.2m x width 1.2m x height 0.72m (in a wicking bed this size will require 0.5m3 scoria and soil).

Half size - length 1.2m x width 0.62m x height 0.72m (in a wicking bed this size will require 0.25m3 scoria and soil).

We are also selling half wine barrels. Price $160.
When you purchase a wicking bed you will be supplied the following: apple bin, non-porous plastic liner, PVC piping, cap to sit over pipe entry, overflow valve and geotextile fabric. You will be required to supply the following: reservoir layer (scoria, coarse woody mulch, coarse river sand), growing medium (soil with organic matter and compost), plants, mulch to the top bed after planting.
We do offer delivery of wicking beds to the parts of the Mornington Peninsula, however this will need to be arranged with our driver after purchase at the farm gate. This service is strictly only delivery of the bins, not the placement of them in your garden.
