5 WAYS TO USE SALSA VERDE
Each week the Torello Farm kitchen makes SALSA VERDE, a punchy herby green sauce that’s such a handy condiment to level up a meal quickly and easily.
Here are five suggestions from Fiona to use salsa verde to make meat, eggs, salads or vegetable dishes sing:
Top grilled meats: Spoon salsa verde over steak, lamb or pork cutlets or burgers as soon as they come off the grill.
Spike your eggs: Add a dollop of salsa verde next to scrambled, fried or poached eggs.
Blend into dressings: Mix a little salsa verde into a combination of olive oil and lemon juice to make a quick salad dressing to toss and coat leafy greens.
Make a quick dip: Stir a tablespoonful or two of salsa verde through a cup of goat curd or yoghurt and serve with crackers and raw fresh vegetables (crudites) like baby carrots, celery sticks, radishes.
Pep up your veggies: Dress grilled or roast vegetables straight from the heat with a dollop of goat curd or pieces of chevre and top with salsa verde for a zesty side dish (see photo).
